Durand Tonearms
Talea
Introduced 2010$9,500 MSRP
The Talea is a unipivot tonearm from Durand Tonearms, a small Canadian workshop known for hand-built, wood-armwand tonearms sold direct and through a limited dealer network; it won Tone Publications' Publisher's Choice Award in 2012 and remains a fixture on enthusiast short-lists for affordable-boutique unipivot arms (Tone Publications review). Its offset pivot point lets the 10.3-inch arm fit mounting cutouts designed for standard 9-inch arms, and it is available with either a fixed tonearm cable or a breakout box for standard 5-pin cables (Tone Publications review).
