Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026. This policy explains what audiophilia.ai collects, why we collect it, and what control you have.

Data we collect

  • Account data — your email address and an encrypted password (or the identifier from a sign-in provider you choose), created when you register.
  • Profile data — display name, username, avatar, location and bio, all of which you supply and which are publicly visible.
  • Marketplace content — listings, photos, condition grades, prices, offers and their status, forum posts, comments and votes, and the gear and room details you save in My System.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser and device information, and request logs generated when you use the site, retained for security and abuse prevention.
  • AI Advisor queries — the questions you type into the advisor and the system context sent with them, used to produce a recommendation and to improve the catalog.

We do not process payments, so we never collect card numbers or bank details.

How we use it

  • to operate the marketplace: publishing listings, routing offers, showing profiles;
  • to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
  • to generate recommendations and market-value context;
  • to detect fraud, abuse and prohibited listings;
  • to send transactional email about your account, listings and offers;
  • to understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.

What is public

Your profile, listings, forum posts and comments are visible to anyone. Offers are visible only to you and the other party to that offer. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who run the site on our behalf — hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, email delivery, and the AI provider that answers advisor queries — and only as needed to deliver the service. We may disclose data when legally required, or to protect the rights and safety of our members.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser storage entries: a session token that keeps you signed in, and preference storage for things like theme and recent searches. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

Retention

We keep account and marketplace data for as long as your account is open. If you delete a listing it is removed from public view immediately. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we must keep for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. You can edit most of your data yourself from your profile page; for anything else, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit, row-level access controls that restrict each record to the accounts entitled to see it, and access logging. No system is perfectly secure; please use a unique password.

Children

Audiophilia is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Privacy questions or requests: privacy@audiophilia.ai.
