U-180
The Aavik U-180 is an integrated amplifier and DAC made by Aavik, rated at 2 × 300 W into 8 ohms and 2 × 600 W into 4 ohms. Its DAC section has five digital inputs, asynchronous sample-rate conversion and reclocking to 200 kHz/24-bit PCM, while the amplifier uses UMAC™ technology with sine-wave PWM generation and dual mixed-mode feedback. The unit uses a natural-based composite cabinet with minimal aluminum, a shared amplifier/DAC mainboard, 36 active Tesla coils, 88 active square Tesla coils, and a differential floating DAC current-to-voltage topology with virtual ground.
