Universe II
The Universe II is the successor to ZYX's original Universe moving-coil cartridge, designed by Nakatsuka-san and housed in the same semi-nude acrylic (polycarbonate) body used on the ZYX Atmos/4D, which exposes the coil windings to reduce body resonance and increase low-level signal integrity (The Audio Beat; Tone Publications). It is offered in six variants with a choice of gold, silver, or copper coil windings and either 0.24 mV or 0.48 mV output, plus a choice of top-mounted metal (tin-based or silver-based) affecting overall mass (Tone Publications).
