Proteus

Introduced 2014$6,000 MSRP

The Proteus is Transfiguration's long-running flagship low-output moving-coil cartridge, designed by Seiji Yoshioka with a precision-machined, resonance-controlled aluminum body, a solid boron cantilever, and a PA (micro-ridge) diamond stylus (Elusive Disc; Hi-Fi+). It uses a yokeless double-ring-magnet generator with ultra-pure (99.9997%) 5N silver coils positioned at the focal point of the magnetic flux field, giving an unusually low 1-ohm internal impedance (Hi-Fi+).
