The Grail SX
The Grail SX is a phono preamplifier made by van den Hul, developed as the successor to the Grail SE. It uses a hybrid design and true transmission technology, with two MC inputs (MC-1 balanced or unbalanced and MC-2 unbalanced), one unbalanced MM input, automatic MC loading from approximately 10–400 ohms, and selectable gain from 32–46.5 dB for MM and 52–66.5 dB for MC. It provides 15 Vss maximum undistorted output for the MM path and 8.5 Vss for the MC path, with 330-ohm unbalanced and 600-ohm balanced output impedance; the unit measures 475 × 95 × 335 mm, weighs approximately 13.5 kg without the external power supply, and is available in matte silver aluminum.
