The Ortofon 2MR Mono is a mono phono cartridge manufactured by Ortofon for playing mono microgroove LP records. It uses an R 18 µm Nude Spherical diamond stylus, a quad-coil motor system, Ortofon split pole pins, and a strapped output that sends the same signal from both sets of pole pins for mono reproduction through stereo playback systems. Its narrow, low-form-factor housing is designed for turntables and tonearms such as Rega and mounts with two screws without tonearm modifications or spacers.
