The Ortofon MC X40 is a moving-coil phono cartridge in the MC X Series. It uses a nude Shibata stylus mounted on a boron cantilever, coils wound with high-purity silver wire, and a magnet system with a one-piece pole cylinder integrated into a rear magnet yoke. Its mechanical construction includes custom-developed rubber dampers and a Metal Injection Molded honeycomb-structured stainless-steel frame.
