The SCS-18 is an 18-gauge, 19-strand single-lead internal interconnect wire made by Van den Hul. Each strand uses high-grade Matched Crystal (MC) oxygen-free copper covered with a dense silver coating, with PTFE insulation, a 0.97 mm² total metal cross-section, 1.82 mm external diameter, and 17.8 Ω/km resistance. Four SCS-18 conductors can be twisted in a clockwise +-+- starquad configuration for interconnect construction; the wire has a 600 V RMS insulation rating and is available in nine colours.
