The Rega Fono MC MK4 is a moving-coil phono preamplifier made by Rega for amplifying MC cartridge signals to a 200 mV line-level input. It uses an all-discrete input stage with a Linear Systems LSK389 FET, a MUSE operational amplifier for RIAA equalization, and polypropylene capacitors in the signal path and RIAA circuits. Rear-panel switches provide selectable resistance loading of 70–400 Ω, capacitance loading of 1000 or 4300 pF, and gain of 63.5 or 69.5 dB; specifications include 13 Hz–100 kHz frequency response, ±0.2 dB RIAA accuracy from 100 Hz to 100 kHz, 200 Ω output impedance, and 24 V AC/150 mA maximum power requirements for use with the Rega PS1.
