Modi 5

The Schiit Audio Modi 5 is a standalone digital-to-analog converter with USB, optical S/PDIF, and coaxial S/PDIF inputs, and a single-ended RCA output. It uses Schiit Mesh conversion with a proprietary time- and frequency-domain digital filter, an ES9018 delta-sigma modulator, Unison 384 USB supporting up to 32-bit/384 kHz, and an OPA1656-based DC-coupled analog stage with thin-film resistors and film capacitors. The unit is assembled and tested in Corpus Christi with a chassis made in California, and operates from USB power or an optional 12–16 VAC wall-wart that provides Linear Override and increases output from 1.5 V RMS to 2.0 V RMS.
