SL-1000RE-S

The Technics SL-1000RE-S is a direct-drive turntable system using the SP-10RE-S motor unit and a double-coil, twin-rotor coreless direct-drive motor with 12-pole, 18-coil drive. Its approximately 7.9 kg platter combines tungsten weights, a 10 mm brass weight, aluminum die-cast construction, and a rear deadening-rubber layer, while the cabinet uses BMC, aluminum, and zinc die-cast components. The system includes a static-balance S-type tonearm with a lightweight magnesium pipe, gimbal suspension, high-precision bearings, and OFC internal wiring, plus a separate control unit and gold-plated five-pin DIN terminal.
