LS1be
The Grimm Audio LS1be is an active two-way DSP monitor notable for housing its DSP, DAC, clock circuitry, and two 180W NCore Class D amplifiers inside one of its two distinctive leg supports rather than in the cabinet itself. It pairs an 8" magnesium woofer with a Beryllium dome/cone hybrid tweeter (co-developed with Seas), and its frequency response is linearized via a Computer-Aided Calibration DSP process performed at the factory, delivering low-distortion, phase-coherent output that can be extended to a three-way system with the optional SB1 or LS1s subwoofers. Note: as of recent Grimm Audio and dealer listings, the LS1be has been discontinued/succeeded by the LS1c, though units remain available through dealers.
