The McIntosh MCD12000 is a two-channel SACD/CD player and digital-to-analog converter with SACD/CD playback, seven digital inputs, and Roon Tested designation. It uses two ESS SABRE PRO ES9038PRO 32-bit/8-channel DACs, one assigned to each audio channel, configured in Octal-Balanced Mono mode; coaxial and optical inputs support up to 24-bit/192 kHz, while USB supports up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD512, and DXD384 kHz. Its Hybrid Drive topology provides balanced and unbalanced analog outputs in vacuum-tube and solid-state configurations, using one 12AT7 and one 12AX7A tube per channel or discrete balanced op-amp circuitry, in a chassis combining mirror-polished stainless steel with hairline-brushed black titanium stainless steel.
