The Ortofon VNL is a phono cartridge designed for modern turntablists and portablists, supplied with the VNL II stylus pre-mounted on the cartridge body. It uses a spherical stylus intended for handling tough grooves and minimizing record wear during scratching and back-cueing, with high tracking performance for DVS and traditional vinyl systems. The cartridge accepts three interchangeable styli: VNL I with 16 μm/mN dynamic lateral compliance and a flexible suspension, VNL II with 15 μm/mN and a rigid suspension, and VNL III with 14 μm/mN and a firm suspension; it is also available premounted on a black SH-4 headshell.
