The STAX SR-009BK is an 80th-anniversary limited-edition push-pull electrostatic Earspeaker with a back open-air enclosure, large circular sound element, and MLER (Multi Layer Electrode) fixed electrode. It uses a super-engineering-plastics diaphragm, a 6N (99.9999%) OFC and silver-coated annealed copper parallel six-strand cable, genuine sheep-leather ear pads, and a machined aluminum chassis with a black alumite finish. Specifications include a 5–42,000 Hz frequency response, 145 kΩ impedance, 110 pF electrostatic capacitance, 580 V DC bias, 2.5 m cable length, and a weight of 454 g without the cable; production is limited to 180 units worldwide.
