DAC502

Introduced 2020$9,850 MSRP

The Weiss DAC502 is a full-width, Roon-Ready two-channel D/A converter from Swiss manufacturer Weiss Engineering, built around a pair of 32-bit ESS Sabre DAC chips per channel and an onboard DSP for digital volume control and signal processing. It re-clocks all incoming digital signals to a fixed, high-precision internal rate of about 195kHz to minimize jitter, and — unlike its narrower sibling the DAC501 — adds a rear-panel 4-pin balanced XLR headphone output alongside its balanced and unbalanced line outputs.
