The Koetsu Black is a handmade Japanese moving-coil cartridge, Koetsu's original and longest-running model, built in an anodized aluminum body with copper coil wiring, a samarium-cobalt magnet, and a boron cantilever. It dates back to roughly 1980 as the company's lower-priced offering alongside the original Onyx and Rosewood models.
