Nap 500 DR

The Naim NAP 500 DR is a two-box power amplifier made by Naim, delivering 140 W per channel into 8 ohms and prolonged output into 2 ohms without discernible performance impact. It uses a bridged power-amplifier configuration with ten stages of local regulation per channel, while its separate 500 PS power supply provides twelve raw DC supplies from a 1,100 VA toroidal transformer. The amplifier has a 25 kg brushed black-anodised chassis, a distinctive heatsink with a variable-speed intelligent fan system, and NA009 output transistors designed to maximise bandwidth and reduce distortion.
