The TD 1600 is Thorens's modern spiritual successor to the classic TD 160 of the 1970s, reviving the brand's suspended sub-chassis design in a walnut-veneered plinth with an electronically controlled AC synchronous motor and the new TP 92 tonearm. It is the fully manual sibling to the auto-lift TD 1601, sharing identical mechanics apart from cueing.
