M-5000
The Yamaha M-5000 is a two-channel power amplifier rated at 200 W + 200 W into 4 ohms or 100 W + 100 W into 8 ohms, from 20 Hz–20 kHz at 0.07% THD with both channels driven. It uses balanced signal transmission, a floating and balanced power-amplifier layout, physically and electrically isolated left and right channels, and a low-impedance design with shortened signal and power-supply paths. Its construction includes MOSFET power amplifiers, a massive toroidal transformer mounted on a 3 mm-thick pure-brass base, block capacitors with screw and brass-terminal connections, and pure-brass speaker terminals with a 3 mm-thick terminal base plate.
