SL-1200G

Introduced 2016$5,000 MSRP

The Technics SL-1200G is the audiophile-grade "Grand Class" reboot of the legendary SL-1200 series, introduced in 2016 to mark Technics' relaunch. It replaces the original's iron-core motor with a newly developed coreless, twin-rotor direct-drive motor to eliminate cogging, and pairs it with a magnesium tonearm and a rigid brass/aluminum platter — positioning it well above the more affordable SL-1200GR2 also in this catalog ([Technics](https://us.technics.com/products/direct-drive-turntable-system-sl-1200g-s), [Stereophile](https://www.stereophile.com/content/technics-sl-1200g-turntable)).
