The Quad 33 (2024 Edition) is a purely analog stereo preamplifier that reinterprets the 1967 Quad 33 Control Unit with a titanium metallic enclosure and microprocessor-controlled switches. Its architecture includes dedicated Moving Magnet and Moving Coil phono stages, balanced XLR inputs and outputs, a current-feedback headphone amplifier, and no onboard DAC. The preamplifier retains Quad’s adjustable tone-control system with an orange-backlit level display, and uses a motorized ALPS volume potentiometer with full-function remote control.
